Body Groove is designed to be adaptable for almost any fitness level, and can be modified to accommodate many medical conditions that often limit physical exercise.
It is essential that you consult with your doctor prior to starting a new exercise program to ensure that you won't aggravate an existing condition.
While it is impossible to give specific guidance, here are some general guidelines.
- Start off slow. Feel free to skip the faster or more intense songs. Gently ease in to grooving, and pay careful attention to how your body is feeling.
- Take a day off. Groove two or three days a week while you build up your strength and flexibility.
- Sitting down is fine. The Body Groove workouts can be modified so that you can do them sitting in a chair. This is a good way to ease into exercise without overdoing it.
- Start with Young At Heart. If your current health condition limits your ability to exercise, consider starting with the Light & Easy workouts, which are specifically designed for all fitness levels and Groovers with movement limitations.
